Can't help but feel a little betrayed since they seem to be catering more towards gamers who violently hate anything that seems remotely Japanese that accidentally got sucked in by Demon's Souls (but instead of trying to get Dark Souls and other From Software games because DS and 3DDGH did pretty well, get more questionable stuff like Cursed Crusade or GoT), or the hipster SMT "fans" that only got into the series because of jpop and pretending to be Japanese simulators, than their long term fans.Įspecially with the way they've jerked around all the Growlanser and Dept. It's just not something their core fanbase of JRPG fans would really want or be interested in. While I haven't really paid that much attention to the games or read the books, I haven't heard anything particularly good about the developer's previous efforts at a GoT game or enthusiasm about the direction this game is taking.Īnd it leaves a bad taste in my mouth that Atlus is publishing the console version. I can't help but think it's a terrible idea.
